I came to Advanced Focus Eyecare to get a new pair of bifocal computer glasses. I had a prescription from a recent exam at the VA. Dr. Bardenwerper took the time to have me measure the distance my computer screens are from me when I'm working at my desk. With that information, he made certain that I was getting lenses that would be ideal for reading and viewing the computer screen. He even did a brief exam to hone in on the exact correct prescription for my specific distance from my screens. I am impressed with the excellent and caring service I received. In addition, the office staff were very polite and helpful. Advanced focus eyecare is excellent! I love that they are open til 7pm. It is sometimes difficult for me to make a "9-5" appointment, so their hours help a ton! The staff that greets you at the door is extremely courteous and welcoming. Dr. Michael is personable and super layed back which as a patient made me feel comfortable and relaxed. I have very unique issues with my eyes, requiring trifocals and prisms. The whole team at Advanced Focus Eyecare made me feel welcomed and and at home on my first visit. I recently had an eye exam with Dr. Bardenwerper. He was very professional. He addressed my problem and explained why I was having issues with my sight. He changed the prescription on my eyeglasses, and now I can see much better. The staff at the office were also very friendly and helpful. They took the time to help me pick out my new glasses. We really liked the idea of having retinal photography instead of dilation of the eyes. The glaucoma test was super fast no more puff puff, always made me jump. Great Experience, highly recommend My experience was so much more than just vision testing and buying glasses...the focus was really monitoring and maximizing health and making life more enjoyable. Dr. Mike took the time to understand my work environment and outdoor lifestyle, and provided vision options that would work best for both work and play. There are a lot of new options in optics of which I wasn't aware. He thoroughly explained the reasoning and results for each test, and answered all my questions. I learned so much more than I knew just going in. New equipment was nice too (no need for dilation or that darn "puff" test!). His assistant Nancy seems to have a talent for picking the most flattering frames right away. I tried a dozen different frames but ended up coming back to her first recommendation. Prices were great, too...got a top brand at a very competitive price. Follow-up: a few months later, I can't believe what a difference my new glasses are making for me. I didn't realize how much I was struggling with my vision before. Went back to Advanced Focus and bought a second pair for "back-up" in case I lose a pair bouncing around in the wind and the waves. My first experience with Dr. Bardenwerper was as a customer of an optometrist near my home. A year later I learned he had opened his own practice in West Bend. I did not hesitate driving an extra 30 miles and I scheduled an appointment there. Dr. Bardenwerper was thorough, professional and as kind and patient as I remembered. This experience was even better than my first, two years earlier. His equipment is cutting edge, and I believe, with the advanced digital documentation of my eyes, he will be able to monitor even the slightest changes in the health of my eyes. This is very important to me because of my advanced age and how quickly things can deteriorate. His prices were quite competitive, but his technology far exceeds any I've seen at other optometrists. Mike was awesome with my son Link, who is five. Link has had glasses since three age of three and no longer needs a specialist. Dr. Bardenwerper, was patient and thorough. He took his time to explain everything so I could understand and made sure Link could understand everything and he wasn't afraid! I recently visited Advanced Focus Eyecare for a routine eye exam, and after my great experience, I will definitely be a lifetime customer. Dr. Michael Bardenwerper and his staff helped me achieve better vision, as I was wearing contacts and eye glasses that were not corrected for an astigmatism. After my examination was complete, with my new contacts, I was able to see 20/15, which only a fraction of people are able to achieve. I was tested on state of the art equipment, and Dr. Barderwerper went above and beyond by examining and discussing the overall health of my eye, which is something I have never experienced at another eye clinic. I feel extremely confident that he is looking out for my overall eye health, and not in it to sell me a pair of glasses or contacts.
